• Hi, I’ve been using shortcodes to put my blog posts onto a page entitled “blog”
the problem is, it only displays part of the post, it doesn’t include any images or iframes included in the content, and it doesn’t allow you to post comments on the page, you have to actually go into the individual post.Right now I’m using Shortcodes Ultimate.

I’ve also tried Posts in Page, but I have almost exactly the same problems, except that this pluggin also doesn’t display the featured image.

Here’s what it looks like now (using Shortcodes Ultimate)

    http://www.alywestwood.com/home/blog
    http://www.alywestwood.com/news-and-events

So I need a code (not necessarily a shortcode) that I can insert onto a page, to be able to display full versions of all the posts out of a certain category, that will allow visitors to post comments on site, that will display the featured images (preferably as thumbnails)

or, I need to know how to alter the pluggin I have to be able to be able to do this.

Help would be much appreciated. Thanks

  • That sounds like a custom programming job. I don’t know of a plugin that would do what you’re wanting to do. In a page template you would need to call the loop and just call those different features. Can I ask why you want to allow people to make comments on a list of posts? That is very unusual.

I have a plugin to suggest that might help with your of display of posts on page…note: it’s not a free plugin. However, I am not sure I fully can envision what the result you are trying to create.

conductorplugin.com : there are a bunch of options to control display of the content.

for example in facebook, you can comment on each post without having to go into an individual post page.

my biggest concern is being able to view all of the content of the post: if you see my news and events page, the event should have a map on it; if you see my blog page, the post entitled Humpday has a video and the post entitled Tether has an embed from Soundcloud. I want these to show up. I want Blog to be my full blog page, not just a sampler. And I want the news and events page to be able to show maps and links so people don’t have to click on it to know what’s going on.

It may help to know I use posts for both these pages, but I’ve assigned categories to differentiate between blog posts, and news and events updates.

I’m really new to coding and I don’t know what to look for in the coding to fix the pluggins to the way i want them. Or how to add the posts without pluggins.
