Email for User Sign up

I have my wordpress site set up and I tried to sign up for a normal user account as a test. I get the message about how an email with my password will be sent, but I never received the email. Not in a spam folder or junk mail box or anything.

Any ideas?

As far as I know my service provider has not blocked any particular tags, etc…
