Elementor editing

As a beginner with WordPress, I was very impressed with Elementor Page Builder, but seem to have run into a problem. I was doing OK with Phlox theme and then Elementor plugin. Have only got as far as my home page with all going OK, but then after inserting new four section and placing icon boxes, the editing was intermittent, sometimes it worked, while other times just nothing.

I have noticed that instead of the green SAVE button, bottom left under the column, it states UPDATE. But nothing happens when clicked on, just keeps going back to UPDATE – not seen it before?

Have installed Elementor and reinstalled. Using a Mac with 10.6.8 and Chrome or Firefox, WordPress 4.9.1 and Elementor 1.9.1. Browsers don’t seem to make any difference.

So frustrated, so any help will be much appreciated.
