Elementor CSS files randomly dropping 404 errors (Jumping between pages)

    Hi everyone,

    I am experiencing a highly frustrating layout issue on my website and would love some guidance. Random pages keep breaking back and forth upon reload.

    When a page breaks, my browser console shows 404 (Not Found) errors for Elementor’s dynamic page CSS files in the uploads directory, specifically targeting page IDs (e.g., wp-content/uploads/elementor/css/post-9758.css, post-9752.css, and global.css).

    When I regenerate the files or purge the cache, the broken page fixes itself, but then a different page (like the blog or a practice page) breaks immediately after. The issue is “jumping” from page to page.

    Here is my setup environment and what I have already tried:

    Theme: Using a Child Theme.

    Caching: LiteSpeed Cache is active (running on default settings, CSS Minify and CSS Combine are completely turned OFF).

    CDN: None active at the moment.Elementor CSS Print Method: Already set to “Internal Embedding” (Inline).Permissions: The /uploads/elementor/ directory is verified at 755 permissions.

    Troubleshooting done: Saved Permalinks twice, triggered “Recreate Kit” in Elementor, forced internal embedding via a snippet in functions.php, and flushed the entire LiteSpeed cache alongside Elementor regeneration multiple times.

    Even with Internal Embedding active, the browser is stubbornly looking for physical .css files that keep vanishing or failing to sync fast enough on reload.Has anyone run into this specific conflict between LiteSpeed Cache and Elementor page IDs?

    Any help or permanent fixes would be deeply appreciated!

    This “jumping 404” issue can happen when LiteSpeed Cache is serving an older cached version of the page that still references CSS files that Elementor has already regenerated or removed.

    Could you please try the following steps?

    1. Purge LiteSpeed Cache

    Go to LiteSpeed Cache > Toolbox > Purge and click Purge All.

    Then, open one of the affected pages in an incognito window and check if the CSS 404 errors are gone.

    2. Disable CSS Optimization

    Go to LiteSpeed Cache > Page Optimization > CSS and turn off:

    • UCSS (Unused CSS)
    • CCSS (Critical CSS)

    These features can sometimes interfere with Elementor’s CSS files.

    3. Check Elementor Folder Permissions

    Please make sure the /wp-content/uploads/elementor/ folder has the correct ownership and permissions (usually 755).

    You can also ask your hosting provider to verify that the web server has permission to create and update files in this folder.

    4. Regenerate Elementor CSS

    Finally, go to Elementor > Tools > Regenerate Files & Data and regenerate the CSS files.

    After that, visit a few pages and check if the CSS files are still loading correctly.

    Thanks for the steps! I’ve actually already been through all of these pretty thoroughly:

    • LiteSpeed Purge All: done multiple times, including a full incognito re-test after each purge
    • Folder permissions on /wp-content/uploads/elementor/: confirmed 755, and files are genuinely being written (correct sizes, fresh timestamps) — so writes are succeeding
    • Regenerate Files & Data: run 4+ times, and each time the CSS files do get created on disk, but the live page’s tags reference a different (often already-deleted) filename than what was just generated
    • CSS Print Method: switched to “Internal Embedding” — no change, still emits external tags to missing files

    I’m running Elementor 4.2.4 / Elementor Pro 4.2.4 with the Atomic Editor (V4) experiments active (Atomic Widgets, Editor V4, Global Classes, Variables all Active). I found this open thread that matches my symptom exactly, including the Internal Embedding not helping:

    Given Elementor’s own guidance that V4 is Beta and not yet recommended for production, is this a known issue with the Atomic CSS generation pipeline specifically?
