• How do you setup separate RSS feeds, for say like a particular category. Also, can someone explain how to make it so a summary of the post is included in the rss, and not just one sentence.

Is there a good plugin for this sort of thing that someone might be able to recommend?

    Thanks.

  • Pretty much everything in WordPress has an associated feed — including all categories. Have a look at WordPress_Feeds in the docs section.

You can set your feeds to be full or summary by visiting Settings -> Reading when logged in. Check the option by “For each article in a feed, show ”

I’ve tried full text and summary but it still only shows a few words. Is it affected if you type things in the excerpt field of the post, because what I type in the excerpt of my posts is what is showing up in the feeds.

Basically is there a way to still use the excerpt but have the summary in the feeds?

    thanks.

    Anyone?

Go to Settings > Reading and For each article in a feed show — Summary

I’ve tried this and for some reason it doesn’t work, this is my problem.

Are you testing with a real feed reader or by looking at the feed in a browser?

If using a browser to test, be sure to View Source so you can see what’s really going on — not the browser’s interpretation.

Do you think an example would help us see what’s going on?
