    Hi,

    Like this plugin but have a quick question if I may…

    I have a ton of affiliate posts.

    I can’t seem to locate the right settings that allow a user of each post to only edit their own post – nothing else i.e. die all admin, themes, plugins, etc.

    I set the “editor role” to “edit published posts” only but, when I login as the “user”, the page is blank?

    Also, can I get edited posts saved by users, held in moderation before being allowed by admin to update and published?

    This will save me a ton of time so hopefully, you can set me straight on how to achieve the above.

    Update

    Found it was WF plugin causing the issue (still trying to find out why) but, I can now see the users post and able to edit.

    However, I have only “edit published posts” checked but, it’s not hiding the admin fields on the right of the page and below the post?

    Just need to limit the user to modify/update their post only.

    Any suggestions, please?

    Hi,

    ‘edit_others_posts’ allows to edit post created by other user. User can only view posts from other users if he can not this user capability. WordPress built-in ‘author’ role is a good example of such permissions.

    WordPress offers the only way with edited post moderation: user without ‘publish_posts’ and ‘edit_published_posts’, exactly like ‘contributor’ role has.
    Any changes made to the published posts become available to the public immediately.

    It seems you need to look for a some plugin which will set custom scheme of post publishing.

    Thanks for getting back to me 😉

    Maybe I’m getting confused about this?

    So I should be using both ‘edit published posts’ and ‘edit_others_posts’, right?

    And how do I hide the WP sidebars and footer blocks below the post to stop the user from modifying them, please?

    I can see ‘Screen Options’ and turn most of them off but, I can’t hide ‘Screen Options’?

    Hope all that makes some sense.

    URE Pro includes add-on which allows to block selected meta boxes at post editing page for the role.
