Using NextGen Gallery 2.1.23, editing thumbnails is behaving oddly. When clicking on the edit thumbnails button, the editor is no longer a pop-up, but appears below the images list. Even though it appears, it lacks a selector to crop the thumbnail. The console is also throwing up an odd error: Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user’s experience. It is not happening when I try to view/meta/rotate. I also cannot click on the image file name itself, when it normally brings the file up in a new tab.

    Things I have tried:

    • Deactivating all plugins
    • Switching to default twenty theme
    • Increasing the PHP memory limit
    • Removing all spaces and errors from functions.php

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looking back into the support history, it looks as if this has been an ongoing problem for many months for many users, but has never been publicly solved.

On a related note, all lightbox functionality for the galleries has stopped working from the front-end. This started with the release of 4.4.2 three days ago.

See a possible related bug here.

@chelsea-threedames – This is not happening across all installations so I suspect there is still something within your particular site that is causing this issue. It appears you have gone through most standard troubleshooting steps to no avail.

Please send us a Bug Report (http://nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page at your site.

Please include as many details as you can about your site and the issue at hand so we can move on this as fast as possible.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

I submitted a bug report, but that says it’s for a fix across future releases. If this isn’t a widespread issue, and is singular to myself, then why would you release a bug-fix for it?

Thank you for your ongoing support with this issue.

@chelsea-threedames – Thanks for sending the Bug Report, it is our best method to keep track of issues … even the ones that appear to be unique to a specific site.
