Edit Screen goes blank

    Since wp 3.3 and now upgraded to 3.3.1 the edit screen goes blank. The word count remains as teh correct figure. If I restore an earlier version of the post/page it shows on the edit screen for a moment and goes blank again.It does not appear to affect al pages.
    I have tried:
    deactivating plugins
    changing theme to default 2011
    restoring previous saves on several pages

    any suggestions?
