    For the life of me, I’m unsure why this is only happening to edit-comments.php. Whenever I click “Edit comments” it returns the PHP file as plaintext. No other files in the entire wp-admin directory acts this way, and its permissions are exactly the same.

    Additionally, I’ve made no modifications to the original wordpress php code. I am using Cherokee webserver, and its top-priority rule is the default PHP handler.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Fixed. Turns out chrome decided to cache the file, and constantly downloaded it over and over. Cleared my cache and it all works fine now.
