Each image creates its own post
-
Okay, this is probably Working As Designed, but searching is a bit of a mixed bag as anything having to do with images gets buried in the image upload issues. So apologies if this was answered elsewhere and I just can’t find it.
I started backtracking through my posts to clean some code up…and found that each image I upload generates its own own post. Whether I want it to or not. I can understand if I’ve linked out to the image as a post and THAT creates its own post. Because sometimes I’ve got a thumbnail and I’m linking out to the larger version and I want it to stay within my site setup. But most of my posts use just the full-sized image and they don’t need to go anywhere.
So if I’m creating a separate post that just sits around and doesn’t do anything and isn’t linked to by anything and thus isn’t going to be used or seen by anybody…isn’t that bloating up my database? For every post I create with an image, that means two posts for the price of one.
Examples here:
Post: http://www.needcoffee.com/?p=6859
Image: http://www.needcoffee.com/?p=6860
If this shouldn’t concern me and there isn’t any DB bloat, as I admittedly tend to be a bit of a code hypochondriac, just say, “Widge, it’s cool. Don’t worry about it” and I’ll happily go away. Thanks.
