    Hey Team,

I’ve recently noticed my title tag appearing twice.

After checking against a backup site, I can see that this is not appearing on my site using the exact same config, apart from running WP 5.7

Is it possible that WP 5.8 is handling the title differently?

Please see the following screenshots of my <head> on my sites, running identical configs on both WP 5.7 and WP 5.8

    WordPress 5.7 – https://pasteboard.co/KcbU91X.png
    WordPress 5.8 – https://pasteboard.co/KcbS9KW.png

    Regards

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

There seems to be no difference between both screenshots. However, we can confirm that one title tag is generated by the Yoast SEO while the source of the second is unknown. However, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you do not feel comfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.`

We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
