• Hi.
I’m currently switching a very old website based on SPIP to WordPress. The import went well.
But the client told me that the pages hierarchy and some pages’ content need to change before going live.
So we have ~300 pages to check and correct.

I’m missing a view of pages that would be something like :
Page Parent Character count Images Status Edit links
Title Title 55555 2 draft Edit

In other words, I would like to create another edit.php page, mostly for post_type=page , but with different columns.
I know the edit page has been switched to OOP 2 years ago, and I wonder what would be the quickest way to create another edit.php view ?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

Replacing the entire edit screen would not be easy. There are ways to modify the TinyMCE editor. I’m unfamiliar with how that’s done. I know the toolbars are often modified. I don’t know about adding another view, but it should be possible, at least in theory. It’s probably not that easy.

If possible, consider accomplishing the missing functionality in a custom meta box. You can put nearly anything that’s possible with HTML in a meta box. Once you get the basic box added, the rest is straight forward web page development.
