• I have this very disturbing problem which I am certain someone will just say “oh, do this” however, if I access my site from the internet and try to post duplicate content as in a comment response, I either receive the 500 page error or the 405.1 error page.

If, I do the same thing (using IE, FireFox or Chrome) right on the server, I get the neat little “Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!” answer from the wp-comments.php script

Can anyone help me resolve this? IS there something I am supposed to add to the custom header field? That doesn’t seem to be the case if all is working well right on the server one would think.

    Suggestions, hints, tricks… I am open….

    Thank you,

OH P.S. — If I use WP-SPAMFREE, COMMENTS CLEANSER, or WP-CAPTCHA plugins, the site will be lucky to post anything other than SPAM in the comments field. We received an email from a visitor stating they were getting the 500 page error while attempting to post a comment while, in the meantime, we have been battling off bots left and right using the wp-spamfree, and wp-si-captcha plugins…

I think if I can get this default code to work, along with the Human Recognition plugin that seems to be working dandy, we’d be all set….

    Thanks again,

    WNV
