Dual-listing specific posts on frontpage

The topic isn’t very descriptive, as its hard to explain.

I’m doing a redesign at http://ani-6.com/blog (its only redesign space). I’m going to be writing articles and then normal blog entries, but I don’t want the articles to leave the page if they get pushed off by normal posts.

The solution I conjured up was to have two columns of text: one for normal posts, and then one next to it with articles, contained in their own special category. But how do I list this specific category?

Would it be like two seperate divs that are spanned together? I’m not too sure. I have a slight idea of how to do it, but its really blurry and I don’t think that it will work. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks a lot!
