• I have a website built in Drupal that is a PHP database and I want to bring it over to WordPress.org. I am just the imagineer and finance guy that brought the project to life, not the techy guy who built it all (he’s gone). I know nothing of the programming world… and it’s just me and no team to help. I need to:

Point URL, import database, build frontend website and launch with the right hosting. Any suggestions? (I am sure I missed some steps in there).

    Thank you so much!!!!

Oh, if it were only that easy. Migrating the database can be very tricky. I’d suggest exporting it and then using a plugin like “wpallimport” to import stuff into WordPress tables. Match up all the fields will be the big trick, especially if the Drupal site used any custom content types.

It can be done and, if you look in the plugins repo under Drupal, you’ll see at least one plugin for it.

Steve! Thank you so much! I will look into that and see what needs to be done. I’m really excited about making the switch and will basically try all necessary steps to see it through. I’ll keep you posted on my progress, which I’m sure won’t happen over night but hopefully soon(er) rather than later 🙂
