    A few months ago Amazon S3 changed their login protocol so I had to create new keys for the BackWPup plugin, and then manually change the S3 settings for each client website using BackWPup – 37 of them and counting.

    Now I’m getting an error message from each site saying:
    ERROR: S3 Service API: The request signature we calculated does not match the signature you provided. Check your key and signing method.

    When I log into the client dashboard, the Access key is correct, but the Secret key field is blank. That data has been dropped, perhaps through an update?

    I am dreading the time suck of manually updating these sites again, especially if there’s no guarantee of the data getting lost again.

    What do you suggest?

    This is a known issue caused by the last release. We already have a fix working for us and some users and just neeed to do some more tests. If you want to test please contact us via the contact form on and use as subject “Betatest”. You can write in English or German. We will provide you with the bugfix.

    The 3.3.7 updates says “Fixed: Services credentials lost after 3.3.6 update”.

    Does this mean it retrieves the lost credentials? or do we have to go back and reënter the credentials?

    after update to 3.3.7 the credentials lost in 3.3.6 come back. You do not need to reenter.
