Dropdown Menus Broken in Chrome?

    Hi there,

    Hoping someone out there can offer some suggestions or advice to fix this..
    Our main navigation menu on our homepage suddenly is displaying the dropdown elements completely expanded in the desktop version of Chrome. In addition, because they’re expanded and no longer scroll, the other menu items no longer display horizontally aligned. What’s interesting though is that in addition to it working fine in other browsers, they also appear functional in the separate back-end on-line store we have (example https://store.abovegroundartsupplies.com/departments/jacquard-tee-juice-fabric-marker-%7CA4%7CA4G.html)
    Super grateful for any help someone can offer in pointing me in the right direction…hoping (fingers crossed) it’s an easy enough CSS fix?
    I’m taking some time to help my work look into this while I’m on maternity leave, and would really appreciate some help as it’s been hard to trouble shoot with a super fussy baby glued to you.

    is the site using a custom theme?
    are you able to contact the person that created the theme for assistance?

    are you referring to the SHOP BY CATEGORY drop down?
    i see similar display in firefox and chrome.
    look for CSS styles related to submenu
    make a backup of files and database
    maybe try changes to css overflow property

    does the html site share same CSS configuration as WordPress site?

    Hi Lisa,

    The theme used is HTML5 Reset, so I could reach out to them potentially to see if it’s something they’ve come across before.
    And you’re right, it does appear to be happening in Firefox too. My apologies, I was told by my office they had tried all browsers including Firefox and it was just a Chrome issue. And yes, it is the Shop by Category dropdown, as well as the About Us dropdown.

    The HTML site uses a separate set of templates, so I’m going to compare the CSS of the WP site to the other one and see if I can pinpoint what the issue through differences…I think they were using the same configuration and someone tried to edit the WP site appearance and might have altered it there, which is why the other is still working and displays correctly.

    Thanks for taking the time to reply…I’ll look into the overflow property as you mentioned too!
