Download not working

I have been troubleshooting this for a while, but no joy.

I do see that the download url is https://stoneacreaffinity.com/http://stoneacreaffinity.com/download//stoneacre2-0-ebook/

and I see that the second http needs an s, but I have tried editing it with no luck. The File URL is listed as “/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Stoneacre_E_Book.pdf”, and manually editing it as well as clearing it and choosing it again from the media library as well as reuploading it do not work.

I tried saving Permalinks a number of times, but no luck.

Any ideas?

That download URL doesn’t look right, at all. It’s got your website’s URL 2x times in there …. How did you upload the file?

Uploaded from Media folder. The upload file box lists “/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Stoneacre_E_Book.pdf” as source.

I actually fixed the http:// to https:// issue directly in the database, so it now is https://stoneacreaffinity.com/https://stoneacreaffinity.com/download//stoneacre2-0-ebook/

I’ve saved permalinks, cleared transients, but still no joy.

So, if you’re using a tool that can do a search & replace through your entire database, I’d suggest doing one for:

https://stoneacreaffinity.com/https://stoneacreaffinity.com and changing it to:

https://stoneacreaffinity.com/

Downloads aren’t going to work because of the way the download link is currently being generated …

I’m curious – if you try to create a new download, do the links end up looking the same way?

Trying to understand if it’s an issue at our end or just an error coming from the search & replace …

My tool is PHPMyAdmin and some SQL knowledge. I did my searches in options. I dod not find any other instances of the duplicated URL.

I added a new file and it does add the extraneous url:

https://stoneacreaffinity.com/https://stoneacreaffinity.com/download//new-test-download-2/

Hey @semide ,

Could you please make a screenshot of the dashboard > Settings > General page? Did not quite understand, did you make any modifications to the database prior to this bug?

No modifications to database prior to this – the plug-in has worked for years (with the occasional need to upgrade).

Thanks for the screenshot, I’ll need one with the dashboard > Settings > General ( so the General settings of you WordPress installation ) also if you don’t mind. We are trying to recreate your problem, but thus far we couldn’t.

Thanks. Could you please give the screenshot I mentioned before ( again, not the General settings of Download Monitor, but the General settings of WordPress ). Also, could you please give us the URL of a Download found when editing the Download ( example: https://imgur.com/a/0Gh4uOy )?

Can’t really tell from the screenshot of the Download edit page, but does the URL there goes to https://stoneacreaffinity.com/https://stoneacreaffinity.com/…. ?
