Double Notification E-Mails

    Hi there,
    i’ve a strange problem with your plugin:

    I’m using a SMTP-Plugin for my Mailsystem.

    First:
    “Allow users to subscribe to forums and topics”
    Checked!

    “bbPress Forums Subscriptions Override”
    Checked!

    bbPress Topics Subscriptions Override”
    Checked!

    But it looks like that the “override”-Function does not work for me: I still get the normal notification mail (from bbpress) and the notification mail from your plugin at the same time.

    Hi Manuel,

    Can you paste a sample of the notification you get from bbpress?

    What version of bbpress are you using?

    i’m using the latest stable version 2.5.14.

    Here’s a sample of the notification – mixture of german & english:

    Manuel Testuser hat auf das Thema Das ist nur ein Test-Thema – wird später wieder gelöscht gerade geantwortet.

    Sorry for the delay. I got swamped with work and this topic slipped my mind.

    Please create an admin account using vinny [at] usestrict [dot] net so I can have a look at your setup.

    Did this get resolved? Cos I have the same problem. I have the same settings. I get a notification (neither of my formatted templates, so I guess its the underlying bbPress one that just says username wrote: replytopic and a long post link).

    Not yet. I’m still waiting on the admin account to have a look. Would you mind creating one for me on yours? It’ll probably be easier if it’s in English.

    I can’t replicate the issue. I just triggered a couple of mailouts from the back-end, and created a new topic in the front end. The Email log (I installed the WP Email Log plugin to see what’s going out) shows 4 messages to unique email recipients: Yours, mine, and a couple of delias (1 and 3).

    Can you provide the steps to replicate it?

    Oh, and before I forget – all messages from your site ended up in my spam folder. You need to set up DKIM and/or SPF records to avoid that.

    It must have been a left over form before I checked the override bbPress notifications.

    Sry – it’s an intranet – in this case you can’t access it from the outside. I deactivated your plugin for the next weeks. Maybe our internal SMTP-Server is causing these duplicate mails.

    That’s highly unlikely.
