• This is a puzzler. My friend set up WordPress to redo my website. He and I have exactly the same rights on the site. It worked fine. When I went back a few months later, I could log in fine. But the Dashboard page is practically bare — only three icons on the left column (profile and domain and reset). The page is just an empty box, and a column of WordPress blog titles. Nothing else.

When my friend logs in, the Dashboard is what it should be.

    Here’s what I’ve done:

    1) cleared the cache.
    2) Tried the http://marketingpsychology.com/wordpress/wp-login.php log in on IE, Firefox and Torch, and on a MAC, too.
    3) Upgraded to the latest WordPress 3.6
    4) Tried all browsers on my laptop and desktop and my wife’s MAC desktop.

This makes no sense to me since my friend, using the identical address and login, sees the right Dashboard. Can anyone help solve this mystery? Thanks!

Do you log into the admin area with the same username/password your friend uses? If not, maybe something got messed up with your user data? Have your friend try to create a dummy admin account and you log in with that. Or log in with your friend’s credentials.
