Doesn't work on latest version of WordPress

Seems simple enough but doesn’t seem to do anything. When visiting the URL with the custom registration link (e.g. “domain.com/join_us”) I just get a 404 page not found error, and nothing changes on the regular register links/pages, so spam users are still able to register as always.
