Doesn’t seem to work

I installed the plugin. In its Settings the only thing I changed was to remove “Pages” from the “Select Post Types” parameter, leaving ONLY “Posts”. I saved the settings without changing the name of the Setting (i.e. left it “Global (default)”). And I specified to only search Content.
I get two instances of matches on the term per post/page. The list of results contains these duplicate titles (the site has pages that are effectively a complete copy of its posts — which is why i want to restrict to just posts) with the second of the two having a small icon resembling a page located above the left edge of its Title entry. I assume these are Pages, and if so, the search restriction isn’t working and I’m doing something wrong. Hope you can help.
