Hi Steve,
Which hosting provider? I’ll buy hosting on there to test it out, hopefully the issue happens to me as well.
altervista.org
the service is free and you can register right away to try. I think it’s a database problem, or your plugin is out of date.
I’m getting this when I try to create an account.
Unknown error, if the problem persists inform us through the community forum explaining which action caused this error, or write us
I contacted them about it and I’m waiting for an answer.
I’ve created a new site-test on Altervista to see if your plugin will be installed,
the new site is: http://www.sito22.altervista.orgI’ve installed also WordPress, but database is empty, non tables inside, and no show the admin bar.
If you want I give to you the username and pwd. Then when no more necessary I erase the account.
I’m still waiting on an answer from altervista.
I’ve installed also WordPress, but database is empty, non tables inside, and no show the admin bar.
Database completely empty? Not even the regular WordPress tables? Sounds like WordPress didn’t properly get installed on there.
If you want I give to you the username and pwd
Unfortunately, we’re not allowed to do that, WordPress.org rules. Our account could be suspended.
I managed to run the site-test and installed your plugin. The table was created, so your plugin works. It appears that my database is not working properly.

Hi Steve,
Interesting. I would say that it would be best to contact the hosting provider to check their logs for errors that might help figure out what’s going on but I haven’t yet received an answer to my question I sent them so I’m assuming there’s very little or no support at all available.
So I’m not quite sure how can we resolve the issue.
Perhaps try doing an export of only that table from the test installation and import it on the real website.
But first do a full backup of the database on the real website, just in case.
I did it but it doesn’t work, is the plugin that must create the table.
Of course it’s a beautiful mystery.
But I saw one thing: this box is only created on the site that does not work. In my other sites it is not created.

That one is hidden by default, if you set the “Spuntato per deafault” to “Si”, save changes and it’ll show up.
No, it only appears on the site that does not work, I did tests.
Maybe there is some corrupt file in my database.-

I did further tests and the situation becomes more mysterious:
As I was telling you, I created a site-test on Altervista and the database does created your plugin table.
Then I created another site-test but this time the table was not created in the database.I think that WordPress does not install correctly, but shows no errors. Usually I use FileZilla to upload files to the server.

Interesting. I’m assuming all those 3 websites are running on exactly the same setup ( same PHP version, same MySQL version ), correct? Can be checked in WP Admin > StCR > Options > StCR system.
I still haven’t heard back from their support about the issue I’m having creating an account. Tried creating an account again and same issue happened. So I’m assuming it wasn’t some temporary problem but instead a location (country) based limitation.
You must to be familiar with Altervista. You have 2 options:
Create the site as Alterblog (WordPress is already installed, but you don’t have access to the database), or as Altersito, here you must to download and install WordPress and you have full access to the database. However, I’m doing the tests myself. The databases are v.5.5.5, v.5.6.33 and v.5.6.35. What doesn’t work is v.5.6.33, but even the other site that works has the same version.
I don’t think the problem is the database version.
I like your plugin, I translated it into Italian, but there are entries in English that need to be translated into files to translate them. I use Loco Translation.
I have other info: I activated debug in config.php and when I activate your plugin shows this message:
The plugin generated 313 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin. -
