• Hello again,

    My question is this: does EWWW replace the default compression that WordPress uses?

    As I understand it, the logic is as follows:

    1. User -> upload image
    2. WP -> compress & resize
    3. WP -> generate thumbnails

    Would EWWW replace steps 2 and 3? It wouldn’t make much sense to compress an image that WordPress has already compressed initially, essentially a double process.

    1. User -> upload image
    2. EWWW -> compress & resize
    3. EWWW -> generate thumbnails

    Hi @yuliandesign

    Yes, EWWW jumps in and takes over for the standard WordPress compression. It still allows for the creation of thumbnails, but it does the optimization of those and allows you to control which ones are generated or optimized (on the “Resizes” tab).
