Does AJAX Search require wp-admin to be published?

    BASIC authentication is required when using as a guest (not logedin) AJAX Search with BASIC authentication applied to the wp-admin directory in wordpress.
    If uses AJAX Search, can’t I use it if I put BASIC authentication for security on wp-admin?
