Divi 5 Ready yet?
-
Hi – I just tried to use this on Divi 5 for the first time, images linked to media file in a text module are just opening a new link with no lightbox..
Is this Divi 5 ready yet? Are there any different requirements to enable in Divi 5?
Thanks – (use this extensively in Divi 4) 🙂

Hi @webdash
I tried the feature some time ago, with the first beta versions. I’ll test it with a fresh install to check if the lightbox works
Thank you for report it.
Please, wait a few hours (I hope) while I make some tests 🙂
Hi @webdash
I’ve been testing it and this is my result:
- In posts edited with Divi Builder there is no need of the plugin because Divi 5 already has the setting to link with lightbox: for galleries in the Theme Options and for individual images in the image module settings
- In posts edited with WordPress editor the plugin works fine with galleries and images self linked to the image file but not with images linked to the attachment. Is this your case?
- In posts edited with Divi Builder neither Divi nor the plugin worked. It wasn’t in my focus for the plugin to work in this use cases.
So, please, tell me your exact need to try to add the support in an update 😉
Hi, thanks for looking into it!
The instance I noticed it was in a top level page made with Divi Builder (direct build, not a template).. section/row/column/text module.. add media to text inside text module. Image is set to media link.
I have the Divi gallery enabled in options f that makes any difference..
It is my first time using D5, so it’s quite possible I’ve missed something!
Kind Regards, D.
I’ll make some more tests 🙂
Just uploaded v 2.2.0 that (at least in my tests) work with any image linked to anything with Divi 4 or Divi 5.
Please, test it in your website and give me feedback 😉
Great, thanks.. lightbox now opening as it should on pages with media embedded in text modules too!
appriciate the update 🙂
D.
You’re welcome 🙂
hi again – just doing some more testing.. I’ve noticed that the lightbox pop-up is now quite aggressive and is appearing on things where it is unwanted.. e.g. the featured image on blog listing thumbnails (instead of opening the blog post) and the logo in the menu module (instead of linking to homepage).. is there a way to control this behaviour?
thanks.
D
I did’t notice that behaviour. I’ll test it and correct it out as soon as possible. Thank you for the feedback and testing 🙂
It was easy to solve. Ready, upgrade to 2.2.1!
Thanks, that seems to have fixed the native modules, but I’m having the same issue with some third party instances e.g. ‘Divi Blog Extra’ and ‘Divi Machine’ modules..
I don’t have access to those plugins. May you tell me which ids or classes use those plugins for the images they use in order to make exclusions for them?
I’ve tried with another approach. Now the plugin works based in an inclusion mode, not exclusion. Please, try out the new update (2.2.2) with those plugins
hi – Great!
That seems to have resolved everything..
Really appriciate the speedy responses and fixes 🙏
Thanks. D.
And I really appreciate your patience 🙂
Enjoy this one or any other of my plugins, and feel free to contact me in any moment
