Displaying items question

Is there a way to have the agenda display only items for that day/year? I use the plugin to display “This Day In History” because it has a better look. However, though I can limit the number in the settings (i.e 10), if I have more for a particular day, they do not show. If I have less, it repeats showing the next year. I’d like to have it only show the items for that day and year. If there are more than 10, show them, if less, only show those.
