Hi

I’m brand new to WP and after finally finding a download plugin that I can understand (almost) I have one final issue that I can’t seem to iron out.

I have added a download button here, managed to remove the counter, change the look of it etc. but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get rid of the Downloads ” ” on the button text. I simply want it to say Download a copy, for now but if someone could also tell me how I can easily customise this call to action text in the future that would be great.

I have been searching for the answer for about 2 days.

Best way is to override or create a new template file. This will give you complete freedom in what it says. You can find more information on how to do this here: https://github.com/download-monitor/download-monitor/wiki/Content-Templates

Thanks for the response Barry, didn’t really get much from that link I’m afraid. Assumed there would be some way of targeting that element as you can with the download counter. Looks like creating new templates is the way to go, will have a look for a guide to that. Thanks for your time.
