Display Recently Updated Pages

We would like to display recently updated pages in a widget. I’ve tried https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-display-most-recent-pages-not-posts?replies=2
This displays recently created pages not modified/updated/edited. I also tried
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/widget-to-display-most-recent-10-pages-published?replies=8
but this seemed to display random pages.
