• Unfortunately, the latest WooCommerce update has been one of the worst experiences we’ve had in quite some time.

Immediately after updating, our site became almost unusable. Page load times increased dramatically, both the frontend and admin became painfully slow, and overall server load skyrocketed. Tasks that previously completed in seconds were taking an extremely long time, making it impossible to manage orders or provide a good customer experience.

After spending considerable time troubleshooting plugins, themes, caching, and server configuration, it became clear that the issues began with the WooCommerce update itself. Rolling back to the previous version immediately restored normal performance.

Updates should improve stability and performance, not bring production websites to a standstill. Hopefully the development team investigates these performance regressions quickly, as they have the potential to impact many store owners.

For anyone experiencing similar symptoms, rolling back to the previous stable release may be the quickest way to get your store operational again while waiting for a fix.

    Hi @red5host,

I’m really sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced after updating WooCommerce. That’s certainly concerning and not the update experience we want store owners to have.

We haven’t seen any other reports of performance issues with 11.0 yet, and we’d love look into what was going on here. Could you provide a bit more information to help us look into this?

    • Could you share a copy of your site’s System Status Report with us? You’ll find it at the top of the page under WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support (after you scroll down a bit). Paste the result here in your reply. Please remove any sensitive information from the System Status Report.
    • Could you please go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and check for any fatal errors? If any exist, can you please share them with us?
    • During your troubleshooting, did you happen to deactivate other plugins to check for potential conflicts?
    • When checking the page and server load, did you happen to notice any specific requests that were slow? If you didn’t, would you be able to create a staging site, update to 11.0, and use a plugin like Query Monitor to see which queries or requests are slowing down the site?

If you can share these details (either here or by opening a ticket through our support channels), we can look into this further.

Looking forward to hearing back so we can dig into this further!
