Disable profile edit and dashboard

    Please help me….highly frustrated. I simply do not want a subscriber who signs up to my site to see either the dashboard, admin bar or edit their profile. I have tried a number of plugins but none successfully. Please please help. It must be possible. Thank you in advance.

    I simply do not want a subscriber who signs up to my site to see either the dashboard, admin bar or edit their profile.

    According to this codex, “Subscriber – somebody who can only manage their profile”.

    Can you change the role and capability of this particular subscriber?

    ah, maybe that is where i am going wrong. Should I create a new role as viewer maybe do you mean?

    no, still no joy. It works fine when i dissallow for all using admin bar disabler, but not for individual roles.

    I understand the capabilities I think, I just want to disable the admin bar for particuler user roles. There is no way it seems to want to work.
