disable post highlighting on 2010 Weaver

Hello all…

New to WP and using 2010 Weaver for my sites. Frustrated that I cant remove the gray highlighting on posts. Used a bit of code to keep the background black for sticky posts and it worked fine but when I click on – say – the author link, it appears with the same highlighting.

Please help – How do I remove any and all highlighting of posts, etc?
