    Hello

I’m having trouble disabling the default WP notifications. I can’t share my site since it’s an intranet behind a firewall. I have no other plugins that send notifications installed.

I’ve created a custom notification for when a new comment is added / awaiting moderation.
That all works fine. But I’m still getting the default new comment notification come through as well. I’ve looked at your page that describes how to disable the default WordPress notifications but I must be doing something wrong.

When you say “all you have to do is to create a notification for the one you want to disable, then set it to ‘Notification Disabled’ in the ‘Save Notification’ metabox in the top right of the screen.” I don’t think I’m doing this right somehow. Do I click “Add New” then select “New Comment / Awaiting Moderation” from the drop down and then Disable then click save? With no other modifications? This method didn’t save since the notification required at least one user to be in the Send To field. I put my own username, saved, made sure it was disabled then tried a comment again, still two emails.

    What am I doing wrong??

    Thank you and great plugin,
    Jaime

    Hi,
    Thanks for your message.

Can you take a look at this support document and then scroll down to the section for the New Comment / Awaiting Moderation notification and follow the steps. I’ve fairly certain this will solve your issue but if not, please let me know.

    Hi,

That’s fixed the issue, thank you very much!

I’m still not 100% sure of the creating a notification with BNFW for a default WP notification then disabling it, but my immediate issue is fixed,

    Thank you!

    Hi @jaimeklein,
    Great, pleased it’s fixed.

You have the process right for disabling a default notification – just create a notification in BNFW for the one you want to disable, then disable it. This essentially overrides the default WordPress email with one from BNFW, then switches it off so it won’t send.

Hope this helps. If you like BNFW and the support, please feel free to leave an honest review.
