Disable comments on Resonar theme on wordpress.com

    I am working with a student on a wordpress.com site and can’t find support there. We are trying to disable comments on the Resonar theme. I have deselected everything on the “Discussion” Setting tab with no effect. Is this not possible on WordPress.com or what am I missing?
