• Hello,

I just wanted to advise you guys that it seems the directory name for the latest version of the plugin isn’t accurate.

I downloaded the zip file, unzipped it, and placed the directory in my plugins folder. However, when I went to activate particular widgets, all the banner images were showing up with broken links. Upon further inspection, it appears the path for the elements was “wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle2”, but the folder I unzipped was “so-widgets-bundle 2”. (Note the space.)

Not sure when this was introduced, but a novice user might not have caught that so I wanted to give you a heads-up before you receive any unnecessary angry 1-star reviews.

    Thanks
    Luke

    Hey Luke

    Thanks for reaching out.

The folder name is so-widgets-bundle. It sounds like you might have downloaded it more than once. Most desktop operating systems don’t overwrite downloads and just add a numeric suffix.

To fix, edit the folder name and remove the prefix and space.

In future, the easiest way to download plugins is from Plugins > Add New then use the search form top right to search for the plugin you’re after. WordPress will then handle the folder install.

    Hope that helps.

Ah, I feel so dumb for even mentioning it now! I thought this couldn’t possibly be the cause as I didn’t have two copies of the zip file in my Downloads folder. However, I guess I deleted the original zip, but left the unzipped version of the directory in my Downloads.

    Thanks for your help!
