Is it possible to have the same menu items as the theme menu, but when the responsive select menu activates at the given page width it uses a different URL for one (or more) of the menu items?

My thought is the responsive select menu will more often than not be used on mobile browsers. One of the menu items links to an external page that uses a different URL depending on how you get there. I want the mobile friendly URL to be used in the responsive select menu, and the regular “desktop” URL to be used on the theme menu.

I can provide the links to what I’m talking about if you think it will help. Thoughts?

    Hi jmducat,

It sounds like what you really need is to be able to assign a special menu to the RSM, rather than just re-use the existing menu (since each menu item can only have one URL). That’s not something that can be done currently, but I do hope to add that functionality somewhere down the line.

For now, your best option might be to use some custom JS to reroute the item manually. Or, if you control the external site, do some browser detection and route the user to the mobile site on that end instead.

    Best,

    Chris
