Different sidebar with different archive?

Hi there,

I am pulling my hair out on this one!

I am using WP 4.1 with the Zoren theme, but must admit I did quite some customization, so it could be my own doing that caused this little problem….

What happens is this:

I’ve added 3 widgets to the sidebar:

1) recent posts
2) categories
3) archives

When I view any page or post, the recent posts show up in the sidebar (as it should be). When I view the page for the monthly archive, the recent posts show up as well.

But when I view the page for the category archive, instead of the recent posts, I now see the recent PAGES listed in the sidebar….

I don’t get it, because the page for the monthly archive and for the category archive is both archive.php, right??

Again: I might have caused this myself…if only I could retrieve how…. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
