Is there a way to set a different front page? For example I want page 50 to be the front page always to appear when you go to lets say http://www.thispagehere.com/wordpress

A little more complicated, is there a way for it to go to the ‘last’ always, instead of the first. So lets say theres 5 pages, then it would go to http://www.thispagehere.com/wordpress/?page=5

If eventually there are 6 pages, then it would automatically move over to the 6th page.

I’ve seen variabiles that support the number of pages, $total I believe does this for page totals, so I would want to use that variable probably.

    Thanks!

Just posting becuase it is getting behind.

Basicly I just want to know where the ‘front page’ coding is.

For the first question: You forgot to tell us what version of WordPress you’re using. Assuming you’re in the 2.1.x branch, have you logged into your blog and visited Options -> Reading?

Ah I am sorry, yes I am using 2.1.3, and I have taken a look, but I do not think that is what I want exactly.

Yes I do want the front page to be different, but no, its not a ‘static’ page sort to speak. I want it to always display the last page instead of the first page. Reveresed sort to speak.

You want to display the last Page (as in Pages) or the last list of Posts?

I’m not sure I understand which you’re asking.

As in pages, so lets say if theres 40 pages, I want it to display the 40th page on the front page,

But if there lets say happens that 5 posts add, and theres a total of 41 pages, I want it to display the 41th page.

    Valleriani,
keeping in mind your other topic… I feel more and more what you are asking is nonsense.

WP does display by default the latest posts – newest on the top.

Now you asked to reverse that order, which means if you have 45 posts and five displayed on a page (not Page!) your latest post will be on page/9.

And lastly, now you want to make that “page/9” to be the landing page, homepage of the blog.

Maybe I am missing something but you seem to aim for something that you already had out of the box.
