Different editable views
-
I hope this hasn’t been asked, I’ve read through about a hundred postings – and can’t find something asked like this before, so here I go.
I need to have the link to edit/complete/update the participants profile to hide/not display certain fields. I CAN do this, BUT I also need to have a way to edit ALL the fields still.
I am thinking the easiest way is to create a page with [pdb_record] on it, and another with field specified i.e. [pdb_record fields=”first_name,last_name,city,state” on another page. The problem is I can find no way to define the two pages.
The fully editable needs to appear in my list (which I have added the EDIT link to). The link sent to participants when they sign up needs to be PARTIALLY editable. I don’t want them to change certain field.
I will put in another shortcode to display-only the other fields I want them to view, but not edit – but right now I can’t create 2 “editable” pages.
I’ve been working for 3 weeks to find something that does everything this plugin does, and I’ve gotten everything I really need – except this.
My alternative is to not send the emails with the link in it, but this means any changes/updates to participant records will have to be done by one person – and this will be A LOT of work for our volunteers. We have about 300 volunteers, and to have an email or phone call for each time someone needs to update a phone number, etc would be horrible.
I’ve noticed that there is a [record_link] and a [admin_record_link], but I don’t see a clear definition of how these are used differently – is there a possibility these could be used? They both seem to allow for edit rights.
