    Hi,

I have found a small issue with this great plugin. I have a WP multi site (multilanguage), so unfortunately I have to upload the same images twice. When uploaded, all images are below 1024×1024 px.

Here is the problem, at my main site the images are compressed better then at the second site.

Here are the numbers from the main site:
    TOTAL % REDUCTIONS 29.82 %
    TOTAL SIZE REDUCTIONS 40.62 MB
    TOTAL RESIZE SAVINGS 35.17 MB
    ATTACHMENTS SMUSHED 234/234

    From the multisite:
    TOTAL % REDUCTIONS 8.66 %
    TOTAL SIZE REDUCTIONS 5.82 MB
    ATTACHMENTS SMUSHED 231/231

I have here no resize saving. During bulk compression I forgot to make the maximum image size 1024×1024 and I can not improve my images now. Hitting recheck images button makes no difference as it says that all images are compressed fully.

I like the figures of my main site better and want to make the second site the same; the capabilities of this is possible as it is shown in the main site.

How should I proceed to make the images in the second site the same as the main site?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi @imagingandarts,

You’d like to resize all the images?

Sorry to say, but yeah enabling resize feature doesn’t enables Re-Smush yet, although we do plan to add that functionality.

For now, you can delete and re-install the plugin, that’d remove the meta and stats, and you’ll be able to Smush the images all over again.

Do remember to turn the resizing feature on.

The stats won’t be same, because the optimisation stats will be lost when you delete the plugin, but you’ll be able to resize all the images for sure. And the new stats will reflect the savings from resizing only.

    Cheers

    Hello Umesh,

Thank you for you guidance. I will do that after I have made a backup of the site.

So if I understand correctly the new optimization will show less reduction because I will run it over the same files which are already optimized and reduced in size (only meta and stats will be removed), or will the last optimization be lost and the old un-optimized files be restored when I uninstall the plugin?

    Best regards,

    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,

It will show less reduction since the current thumbnails are already optimized and the stats are cleared after reinstallation.
It will only show results from the smushing of the new thumbnail.
