• The title more or less says it all. I’ve got two different side bars on two different ‘product’ pages, and would like to be able to categorize the products on each page based on different categories.

One page is a true products page, where I’d like end users to be able to sort by product type. The other is a page of clearance items that are only being sold in specific states, so I’d like end users to be able to sort those products by state. Unfortunately, all of the categories are showing up on both pages.

I’ve found a few places where the question has been asked, but haven’t found a definitive answer yet. Can anyone point me toward a solid how-to on how to accomplish this?

Sorted it out, for anyone looking in the future:

Create Parent categories, and place all of your categories within the Parent categories.

Add a dropdown list using wp_dropdown_categories and/or an actual list using wp_list_categories, then use the child_of parameter to limit what categories show up in each list.
