Detecting a Plugin that isn't installed

Hi there

When I run the P3 Plugin Profiler scan, it informs me that the plugin “Email Address Protector” takes up 25% of my total plugin load time – by far the biggest percentage of any plugin.

However, I don’t have a plugin installed called “Email Address Protector”

Anyone able to explain what’s going on here?

Nope, the only plugin listed in the must-use section is the P3 Plugin Profiler itself.

Are you looking at an older scan? If you have deactivated / removed a plugin, it won’t show up in your site now, but it will show up in an older scan.

Nope, not looking at an older scan. Just ran another scan then, and again it said “Email Address Protector” was contributing to 27% of my plugin load time.

But there’s not a single plugin anywhere on the site that is called that, or even has that function.

Are you using another plugin called “Newest Twitter Widget” ? The folder name on it is email-address-protector and the name may be detected incorrectly.

I have a Twitter plugin called “Juiz Last Tweet Widget”. Similar, but not quite what you mentioned

Just ran the scan again, and you’re correct. That plugin was the culprit.
