Deleting Plugin Breaks Images

    I’ve gotten a lot of value from WebP Express, but it’s now redundant with an image conversion function offered by my web host. So I deactivated the plugin, which didn’t cause any issues. But when taking the additional step to delete it, images broke throughout my site. So I reverted to a previous backup point, and images are fine again. But now I’m left with a deactivated plugin that I can’t delete. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a known fix?
