Just use Manage pages, or manage posts and you can delete the post, click on edit next to the post title, scroll down and you should see DELETE THIS POST or DELETE THIS PAGE
I have the same problem. I’ve been renaming the posts things like “Recycle this post” so that I can create a new post by overwriting the old one. It seems like draft posts should be listed under “manage” in the usual way (although marked as “draft”) so that we can delete them in the usual way.
Nope. They don’t show up in the list of posts. However, I found that if I searched for the title under “manage” the post will come up and can be deleted as normal.
the should be listed under post, e.g your DRAFTS, again like other issues plugins cause issues as well as give you extended use of WP 🙂 are you running the standard wp-admin or someones themed version of it?
You do not need to publish them to delete them, just click on the draft, and at the bottom of the DRAFT it should have DELETE THIS DRAFT. I just did it on my live blog about 2 minutes ago 🙂

Thanks for the help. I am running WP 2.2.
I did the search suggestion and the draft then shows up in the so I can edit, view or delete it. There is no delete option such as Delete This Draft at the bottom of the lsit of drafts.
But my problem is solved. Thanks again.
I also have no “delete this draft” option at the foot of a draft. I’m running the standard admin theme.
Just click the draf post, it’ll open and the select deleted from the sidebar.
When I open a draft there is *no* option to delete it. As I said, the only way to get rid of a draft is to search for it and then click on “delete” beside the post listing.
I am using version 2.2 and there is both a delete link to the right of any draft page and a delete button at the very bottom of the page for every draft (and published) page.
Are you selecting the page from the Manage>Pages list? I don’t have a “list of Drafts” but all draft pages show up on the same manage pages screen and all have the links View | Edit | Delete to the right of each.
Syncbox,
I believe your question was answered above. Some versions of 2.2 seem to behave differently from others. Perhaps it’s a plugin issue?
