deleting current theme

    How do i delete my present theme and start again from fresh for a new colormag theme. i dont want any of my existing site transfered. I am not ftp savvy but i can install and customize via my dashboard. thanks for the help

    First, you’ll need to install and activate any other theme, like the Twenty Sixteen theme.

    Then, you’ll be able to delete that parent theme by selecting it in the Appearance > Themes section of your site’s Dashboard and choosing “Delete Theme”.

    thanks james. my worry is all the content will go to whichever theme i use so that when i install the old theme the old content will still be their. i have a couple of wordpress themes and when i click preview my old content appears.

    Theme-specific content may disappear, but your posts and pages are entirely separate of theme.

    Any theme-specific content will of course have to be re-created after deleting and reinstalling the theme.
