    Hi

I deleted wordfence from my list of plugins but I’m still receiving alerts that are apparently coming from my website. How is this happening ?

  • You likely need to delete the Wordfence data from your WordPress DB, as well.

Re-enable Wordfence, go into the Wordfence Options, then click the checkbox for “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation?”

Then delete the plug-in again, at which point, Wordfence data will be deleted as well.

    Thanks

Sorry – quick re-wording…. deactivate the plug-in before deleting it to allow that setting to work!

    Thanks

You have to do that anyway. It won’t let you delete before you deactivate.

    I think it worked anyway

    Cheers

Also make sure there isn’t a backup copy of your website in the public_html or www folder of your site. We had a couple of cases like yours where someone had made a copy of the site which was still pointing at the database and sending alerts that way. What @bluebearmedia mentioned will work too but having a backup of the site that isn’t being updated is a security risk because it can be exploited.
