Please install the latest BackWPUp version, after that, try to deactivate it.
All BackWPUp roles should be gone 🙂
I have a multisite. And I can not clean my installation.

I have a multisite, I do have some sites with the roles and some not (maybe because of the momento of the creation I had activate or not the plugin). If I do install mulsitie activation and unistall, the roles remain in the sites.

Really sorry for your problem, I was unable to reproduce this :'(
For a workaround, please install a plugin called Members and go to Users -> Roles and delete all BackWPUp Roles 🙂
