    Hi Ramzii,
    thanks for your comments.
Please read the FAQ and follow the instructions. As it says, AVOID using the normal WP uninstall procedure, since it will delete NGG configuration and it will screw your work.

If you feel unsure, backup your site first(!).

    Thanks for the answer!
If people are curious, here’s how i went about it.

    In FTP filezilla I:

    0. backupped the original ‘nextgen-gallery’ folder
    1. renamed the ‘nextgen-gallery’ to ‘xnextgen-gallery’
    2. checked on the site if there were any difference, there weren’t
    3. strangely wordpress still recognized the plugin
    4. so I deleted the folder ‘xnextgen-gallery’.. via the FTP
    5. checked the site again.. for any strange behaviour..
    6. concluded its all good!
    7. thanking you again

    Hi Ramzii,
    Well done.
Remember that WP will try to identify the plugin no matter what folder name it is using. The only condition is the plugin has to be under plugins folder.
