Delay and/or Timeout when submitting comments

    Why is there a massive delay after a user clicks the “Submit Comments” button?

    This is not caused by the webserver or the user’s connection speed. There must be some RSS or other notification code that causes this delay – that is, if whatever the wp code is trying to talk to is not available, it waits for the connection request to time out.

    Is there any way to disable this or adjust the timeout wait?
