The plugin has two roles: administrator and editor. These correspond to the WordPress user roles, but it is possible to use custom user roles if you have them defined.
In the plugin settings, under the “Admin Settings” tab, you’ll find settings to assign a WordPress role to each of the plugin’s two roles.
So, this means that to assign a user to a plugin role, they just have to have the WordPress user role defined in one of those two settings. If you, for example, don’t want to have this person be an WordPress editor, you can use a user role editor plugin to define a custom role for that purpose. You would then select that custom role in the plugin settings, and assign the user to the custom role.
